KU freshman Rio Adams to transfer

Certainly not a shock, from previous reports ... However, I thought he'd mentioned that he wasn't considering transferring a few weeks back. Really had higher hopes for the kid and his skills on the defensive end. Sorry to see him go but wish him the best.

FINAL: Elijah Johnson wills KU to 108-96 OT win over Iowa State

Just like Marcus Smart doing backflips ... the kid was excited and showed it ... If it ticked the team off, and made them motivated to go to their place and win, great ... If they didn't want someone doing backflips in our gym, just win. If we don't want the ISU fans to storm the court (if we deem it "classless") then win and keep them in their seats.

EJ, while apologetic (which is fine), was in the moment ... got carried away. Whoop-de-freakin-do! He probably will never do it again, and has closed out a lot of wins with plenty of class. No reason to crucify him for one play that some may have an issue with.

FINAL: Elijah Johnson wills KU to 108-96 OT win over Iowa State

Okay ... EJ says he shouldn't have dunked the ball (in an interview after the game with Holly R.). Said he wasn't thinking and just saw an open basket. Hey, when you're in the zone, you just see the basket (WIDE OPEN) ... Good to hear that he and coach had a heart to heart during the game that helped him.

Will KU limit turnovers against a passive Iowa State D?

I think it will be on Ghost and BMac to push us through on offense. Both have to take a lot more shots in this game and play the numbers shooting outside to open up the inside. If EJ or Tharpe could do some dribble drives (layups and kick to the outside)m it could help to open the middle as well. It's on the guards to help Jeff be a factor in this game. However, I think KY will be just as essential in being the X factor on offense and defensive rebounding.

Hawk to Rock: Releford with a high shooting night with a high percentage and his tenacious D on the perimeter.

Danny’s new digs: Manning brings ‘new brand of hoops’ to Tulsa

Great article, Matt!!

While I was really sad to see Danny leave, I'm very happy for the opportunity he has in Tulsa. Here's another KU fan hoping for Tulsa's continued improvement and a return to the NCAA tournament ... Just hope we never have to face 'em!

Love the photo of Self's team at Tulsa ... I take it that's Norm Roberts sitting next to him? Wow, 1999-2000 ... Amazing how time files.

KU’s Bill Self won’t revisit flippin’ OSU loss

Stillwater is a tough place to play no matter the year and I expect a tough game against the Cowboys -- but believe the 'Hawks can come out on top if they focus on D and don't make any lazy passes to allow the Cowboys to get dunks and get the energy of the crowd going.

Great to hear that Mrs. Randle was impressed with the atmosphere of the Phog -- it's always a good sign when mom like what she sees and hears about a prospectives school!

KU women rally from huge deficit, upend TCU

Was there some curse that was left over from the men's game that wore off during the second half of the women's game? Thought that stuff only happened in Louisiana.
