KU hoping to move ball better against UCA
drgnslayr & co,
CALM DOWN!!! It's early in the season, we will be fine. Did we play poorly? yes. Did we turn the ball over way to many times? Yes. Should we have outscored them by more despite Collins being out for part of the game? Yes.
Has Self not already proved that his system works & that his team is ready when the time comes?
Keep in mind, unlike the 2 exhibition games, it was probably a big adjustment for our freshman to play away from Allen Field House.
Yes, we didn't look great, but its November & I'm confident Self will turn things around.

Little to red-shirt this season, Self says
Oakville,
I agree with everything you said. It makes me so mad that Roy wouldn't recruit from the east coast when he was with KU, but now he recruits from the Midwest when he's with UNC. That's the only reason I'm mad at the guy. Recruiting is a pretty big part of your job as a head coach and he did not put 100% effort in that regard, not even close.
That being said, I think that this was a good decision for Mario. He'll see a lot more playing time next year.

Markieff improving around the rim
TenaciousD,
I couldn't agree more! The Morris twins were definitely not as bad as people made them out to be last year. A lot of the great players that ever played at KU weren't very good as freshman, even Hinrich & Collison, although they did show flashes of good play here and there. Fans expectations were probably a litte elevated after the national championship the season before.
As I expected, the Morris twins will be fine! Call me crazy but I think they'll end up in the NBA too, maybe not after this year, but maybe next year or the year after. As long as they have Self & D Manning coaching them, and they continue to work as hard as they are now, they'll get there.

Two of a kind
KY_Cats1,
You are a joke! I've read some of your comments and never bothered to respond to any of them until now. Are you just in denial or are you really that uninformed/clueless??? Are you aware that your new head coach had his last season at Memphis forfeited? I beleive the same thing happened when he coached at UMass too. Are you also aware of the fact that he clearly got outcoached in the championship game?? Not to mention the fact that John Wall is not even elligible to play. No need to worry though, I'm sure coach Cal will make sure everything is taken care of legally and compliantly, just like he did with Derrick Rose. Oh wait...nevermind.

"Aldrich and Cole are the first teammates chosen" - ? I think you meant to say Aldrich and Collins...
This article talked more about Luke Harangody than Cole & Sherron. What's up with that?
Anyway, congrats to Sherron & Cole! Rock Chalk!

Recruit Knight enjoys visit to KU
I'm glad he enjoyed his visit but it would have been better if he had come for late night/for a game. That way he could have seen all the support from fans, & got a better idea of what its like playing in Allen Field House. Oh well, not too worried about that. I know Self will work his magic, like he always does.

Last chance
yates,
I wouldn't say he's a shoe in but he's got a really good shot at making it. nbadraft.net has him as the first pick in the second round, they're usually pretty accurate: http://www.nbadraft.net/2010mock_draft
I'm sure he'll move up as the season progresses though. He should go in the first round.

Taylor might scrimmage at Late Night
kustrong,
I said the same thing at first but the more I thought about it, it does make sense. In Tyshawn's incident, we don't really know exactly what happened/who started the fight. He very well could have been acting in self defense. No charges were filed by anyone during this whole skirmish/brawl.
On the other hand, what Brady did, is illegal & I understand why he would be punished more severely. That being said, I read his letter to the fans the other day & thought he was being sincere & accept his apology & still support the guy 100%.
Almost time for bball season, RCJH GO KU!!!!!

KU could dominate in area
I just skimmed through the article the first time, nevermind, he does actually transition back and forth a lot. Forget what I said, Bill Mayer you suck. You're fired!

KU could dominate in area
Wow, Mayer is a KU fan now! He actually said something positive about KU for once, and he didn't transition on to 3 or 4 different topics! It's almost like he's starting to learn how to write. Hell must be frozen over with pigs flying!
