kushaw - That's what I thought, that's awesome! I'm sure we'll have 6+ in the near future. Rock Chalk!

That makes no sense to me either, there is no way that KU has registered trademarks on the word Kansas!
Other than that, I actually have to side w/KU on this one. If Joe College simply made t-shirts that said "Kansas" on the front, or maybe even have something making fun of the state of missouri on the back, that's fine. But when you start making t-shirts that have a #3 printed on the back & say something about Russell Robinson on the front, I think that means you're representing KU, and not just the state of Kansas.
That's just 1 example, I've seen plenty of other t-shirts @ Joe College that have KU players' names on them/other references to the school & not just the state. It doesn't matter how many signs you put up in your store; when you make t-shirts like that of course KU is going to say/do something about it. Some of you may disagree with me but I think Joe College did cross the line in this case. I really don't care that much, it's not affecting me personally but that's my 2 cents for today.

That's awesome, congrats Mario & Darnell!! You guys definitely deserve it.
KU basketball has always been great but I think we've on another level now with Self. I can't remember when last we've had 5 players drafted in the NBA! With all the recruits that Self is landing, along with his coaching, I'm sure there will be many more good things to come in the future!

Congratulations Travis!! I was really looking forward to seeing the Morris Twins & Mario Little (and still am) but the more & more I hear about Travis Releford I'm more interested in seeing him. Self even said he already plays college level defense. That & his international basketball experience will hopefully make for a seemless transition to the D1 level! Best of luck to you Travis!

Well said actorman! It pissed me off too that everyone seems to think it's all about that 1 shot he hit. It's not only his shooting percentages from the field, 3 point percentages & assists but also his free throw percentages and steals! He's 2nd or 3rd in steals in KU basketball history.
Woodling was right on, the draft was a complete joke, and a lof of our players got screwed but all of you are criticizing him for saying that. I think a lot of you like to criticize the writers on kusports just b/c it's the cool thing to do. If he had written an article about how our players are overrated and got drafted where they should have been then you all would throw a fit and complain about that too.

I have to agree with Woodling on this issue, this years NBA draft really was a joke!! I think Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley were clearly the 2 best players in the draft. Other than those 2 picks there was no rhyme or reason for all the other picks, NONE! The NBA drafts more on potential than on proven results. That and they probably don't notice a lot of our players because they average 10-13 ppg, but that's because we're a very deep & balanced team. If any of our guys played on any of those big 10 teams they would be the star of the team, and they too would average 20-25 ppg!
I'm upset about the draft but it's not simply because they didn't pick the KU guy. I genuinely beleive that a lot of our players were better than a lot of the other guys that got drafted higher. I'm sorry but DJ Augustin should NOT have been the #9 pick in the 1st round! A lot of you may not agree but I also think Darrell Arthur would destroy Kevin Love if they played against each other. And I also think Chalmers is a lot better than Eric Gordon.
A lot of these NBA GMs made some bad decisions and they will realize that eventually. Darnell Jackson and Chalmers are already proving them wrong. Good luck to all the Jayhawks that just got drafted, you will be missed!

Chalmers will do fine in the NBA. Best of luck to you Mario!

Chicago_,
I agree, the Bulls need to draft Rose! Michael Beasley is amazing, yes, but if they draft one more 6'9" super athletic dude I'm going to start ripping my hair out. They already have Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha, Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons & Demetris Nichols. All of those guys are about 6'8" or 6'9". I really, really hope the Bulls don't blow it & get another 6'9" guy. They need a center but they also need a point guard, a really good one too.
Anyway, back to the article, good to hear Rush is doing really well so far. Best of luck to all the Jayhawks trying out for the NBA right now!

LJW,
Can't 1 of you guys remove the comments from djkc28?? Everything he says is offensive and irrelevant. I have read comments from Christian and non-Christian KU fans that are offended. I'm not sure if he really is a super religious freak or he's just trying to push peoples' buttons but either way, nobody is amused by anything he has to say.
Anyway, it seems like winning a NC has definitely helped improve Self's, already proven, ability to recruit. I'm hoping we'll land a few top 10/top 20 recruits for 2009.
Rock Chalk!
