Overall, Pierce was probably the better player but career wise Rush had three all conference nods and when the team needed Rush to be clutch that year, he did his job. Remember when he was the leading scorer in lighting up North Carolina in the Final Four? Remember who took control in OT of the national championship? Championships simply make players look better. Tom Brady will go down as a better QB than Dan Marino not because of the numbers, but because of the Super Bowls rings. Rush brought a championship, Pierce didn't. You don't play the game to just get good numbers, you also bring home the hardware and Rush did both.
