Receivers peeved Mangino
I'm just glad to see Mangino continue to take the "sawin' wood" approach and ignore all the Chicken Little's posting over on the message boards. You'd think the entire team had been sucked into a wormhole the way some of the fan base is panicking. Go Hawks!

Five Jayhawks drafted, then traded: Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur chosen in first round; Mario Chalmers, Darnell Jackson and Sasha Kaun selected in second round
Randolph Morris declared out of high school, so he was under different rules. Does anyone have any clue about this kidney issue?

Gee, what to talk about... (Spodcasters)
Draft, or draught, if you prefer, refers to the act of drawing a liquid from a cask or keg. All terms come from the same origin. My guess is a "draw" is what I used to get at Benchwarmers back in the day, i.e., cheap beer on tap served in a plastic cup. A draught is what I get at an Irish Pub from someone who knows what they are doing with a keg of Guinness.
I was there in '91 for the celebrations on Jayhawk Blvd. What a blast! I was also there for the not quite so celebratory reaction to the '93 FF, which is basically why the celebrations are on Mass St. now...if memory serves...oh well... Go 'Hawks! Send the 'Heels packing!

Senior Night leaves mark on coach
Here's a link to the V-Foundation Award Finalists, including links to past winners. I honestly have no idea what the stories are for the other finalists, but go Darnell!

Chat Tuesday with K-State beat writer Jeff Martin
As a KU fan, I don't read Jeffrey Martin very often; I'm partial to Plumlee. I do think that when you cover a team full time, you are going to develop an affinity for that team, but reading this chat, Martin's view of the KSU world definitely seems as if it's through purple-tinted glasses. He didn't say one negative thing about KSU, other than they're not quite ready for KU yet. Methinks Martin needs to be moved somewhere he can regain objectivity.

Allen annihilation & Bramlage brilliance (Spodcasters)
Yeah, I think KU still wins. And please, please please don't ever spodcast from the highway again. What the hell was that, a convertible?

Back in the saddle
Nicka and husbus have already shown their disdain for walk-ons, so their opinions on this article can and should be discounted.
I don't know if the relationship between Coach Self and the Bufords had anything to do with Chase being invited to KU, but it's certainly an easy supposition. Do I care? Heck no. I just hope he's bringing something to the program in practice, and maybe he'll be able to contribute meaningful minutes someday.
Rock Chalk!

Ex-Lion thrilled to be a Jayhawk
Nah, it's just Keegan rehashing his ignorant column from a few weeks ago. ;)
I'm sure flicka is a reasonable, intelligent well-meaning fan of KU Basketball (since 1988)...and KSU football (at least of the Bill Snyder era)...and WSU Baseball...and still trying to figure out if the KU football bandwagon is worth jumping on...I'll bet he's a great guy.

Darnell not picky about role
"Supposably. Supposably? 'Did they go to the zoo?' 'Supposably.'"
At any rate, I love the crimson unis. I seem to remember the 'Hawks busting them out one time in Norman, which I thought was brilliant.
All that's ancient history, and I'm just looking forward to a beat-down of GT and most of the rest of KU's schedule.
Rock Chalk!

Spodcasters: All things Orange...and crimson...and purple... (Spodcasters)
Oh my spodcaster...The BCS is NOT designed to produce the best matchups possible in the bowl games. The BCS is designed ONLY to provide a 1 vs. 2 BCS Championship Game. The rest of the matchups are entirely up to the individual bowl selection committees, and they are looking for revenues, not matchups.
