Selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round (third pick overall) of the 1998 NBA Draft from Kansas. Has a good outside shooting touch and one of the leagues' leading shot-blockers. Ranked #2 in the NBA in Blocks Per Game(2.73) and in Blocks(213.0) in 2001-02. Traded to the Dallas Mavericks during the 2001-02 season.
