It has to be Missouri just because its a rivalry. Baylor is the best talent wise, however the Missouri game will be the hardest game we will play this year.
How does Baylor have the majority!?
Uhhh have you been watching? They are pretty damn good...
No. They beat BYU and Tx A&M by single digits. Neither of those teams is any good and if Baylor is better than Mizzou or even KState they would beat them by worse than that.
It's a no-brainer. Baylor has more tall guys, so they are bigger - read the question.
Missouri will lose more games this season than Baylor.
everyone is going by rankings...i think mizzou will be a tougher game
Twelve of the ninety conference games will be between two of the teams starting out ranked (each of the four hosting each of the other three). Of those six home&home series, I doubt more than two are swept by one team, or that any one team sweeps more than one of them. The other games won't be gimmees either, especially the six on the road. At least one of the top four will lose to Billy Gilespie's Raiders - maybe even at home. Fewer than four losses for any of them would be a phenomenally successful season.
KU's toughest opponents will be the ones we are least prepared for. Preparation includes everything from extra foul shot repetitions and viewing tape of upcoming opponents to explaining to the girl friend why the night before a game doesn't include certain activities known to affect blood circulation.
Missouri, no question!!! Baylor does not know how to win a BIG game.
Why is Baylor the far and away leader in this poll?
Missouri, with its abysmal SOS, had gotten off to an excellent start, and their win over Illinois fed into their early ranking. But the KState game exposed all their weaknesses, and you can bet everyone else will learn from it. Missouri was horrible on the road in the B12 last year, and they have picked up where they left off.
And remember, the question is not about winning the head-to-head competition, it is about competing for the regular season TITLE. Yes, Missouri is almost certain to give KU grief in mOOrdor, that's the case almost every year. But they are going to lose a lot of road games this year again, so they will not be in the top 3 for the title. Baylor, on the other hand, may lose both games to KU and yet still be neck and neck with KU if the Jayhawks do not take care of business every time out. Away games where Self has emotional attachments (see at OSU and Lubbock with old friend Gillispie at the helm) are historically rough, as well as in Manhattan, mOOrdor and Austin (even with tu down this year). That's 5 games that could be losses if KU doesn't bring its "A" game before even considering Baylor, and still having to play a seemingly revived Iowa State in Ames. All Baylor has to do is beat everyone else and they could still top KU in the conference standings if KU slips up. And Baylor is capable of doing that this year, although I don't think they will fare well at KState or at Iowa State (keep an eye on ISU newcomer Royce White, he looks to be a big difference maker for the Cyclones).
I did not hesitate to say Baylor. When I looked at the poll results, they were in the lead. No surprise. They are taller. They have the inside presence. They have length. They also, have an outside threat (can't think of his name) that can knock down the trey at any given moment. Baylor is the biggest threat to KU--mark my word.
I voted for Baylor, I thought about voting other, the other team is... Kansas Jayhawks
