Tyshawn's aggressiveness got us 8 points from the line. 8-9 free throws was huge for us
If I remember right Brady drove the lane for an easy two but then hit the two free throws to put us up 5 in the final seconds. Brady gets my vote this time although Tyshawn was big from the line! Definitely a team victory!
Who hit the tough shots when we needed them the most? Who, when no one else could get their head on straight, knocked down two deep threes in the second half? Who fought off injuries and cramps to make a heck of a gutsy play, put us on top, and break KSU's spirits?
The question is, "Who was the most vital Jayhawk IN OVERTIME?" That's really simple to answer - who was IN all of overtime? Cole! For starters, he was playing with FOUR fouls - but he didn't foul out. He played nearly 10 minutes with four fouls, and didn't foul out. K-State was going at him, doing everything in their power to get him to make that all-important fifth foul, but he didn't fall into the trap. He was in there, rebounding, altering shots, making shots, and being a steady anchor for the rest of the team. He and Brady held it together when Sherron was out with the cramps. Brady, too was incredibly valuable.
The answer is the same person who was most valuable against Memphis in '08...
The Team, everyone working together with anyone willing to make the big shot. No one single person
As much as I hate to admit it Ty did a pretty good job running the show while SC was out. Without him controlling the ball KU was in trouble.
Yeah i have to agree...
TT played a very good game.
Brady Morningstar was the Star with a rebound tip out to half-court and the two winning points of the game. Not forgetting the great defense he played during the whole game. Brady is the often overlooked hero of this team at times. This game was a perfect example of how valuable Brady is to this team at crunch time. Hard to argue with Sherron or Cole .. but I feel Brady was tops this time.
The person responsible for these polls makes them extremely difficult. It is normally very hard to choose among the three or four alternatives. We would not have won without either of the three. I voted for Collins, but Taylor and Aldrich were as very important, and for this year somewhat out of character. I've come to expect Collins' heroics. Hopefully, we can begin to expect it from the other two as well as Morningstar. X is a great player having a rather typical Freshman year. I should probably throw Reed and several other players in this mix, but the starting five or six will have to do.
