Heck Yeah! Coach Knight is the best commentator we've had all year.

I love knight as a commentator. He did a great job with the KSU TX game too. I love how he actually talks about how the game is being played vs. some of the innane comments made by other commentators.

I like Knight as a commentator also, but even he was bored into talking about pheasant hunting last night.

I look around the ESPN stations to see which game Knight and Musburger are working and stay there, when the Hawks aren't playing one of the other games. Knight is so much more knowledgeable about the game and doesn't come up with all the crap that most of the "color" commentators do. He carries Brent who is ok but sometimes gets carried away with the inane crap and Knight saves him often.

You guys have got to be kidding me... Bob Knight has gotta be the WORST color commentator in the business right now... He routinely butchers players names over and over again (in the cal game earlier this year he referenced Sherron Collins as Tyshawn Taylor numerous times), his opinions are downright stupid (like fans are gonna cheer THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! to their team after a huge win like he suggested the Wildcat fans do when they beat Texas), and his breakdowns of replays are so basic that anyone w/ any sort of basketball IQ could have seen what happened w/o his "insight"... the only reason he has a job for ESPN is b/c his name is Bob Knight. Thats it.

Well, at least he talks about basketball. The most annoying thing about ESPN is that they want to do 1000 things at once so the cut away from a live game to talk about how the assistant volleyball coach's daughter won a county fair trophy. I vomit in my mouth every time they cut to Holly Rowe.

He may be a bit senile but he usually does a bit better at the play-by-play than the actual announcer. Probably because he is actually watching the game instead of talking with an intern about the next pointless fact to talk about. I also love the fact that he doesnt pull punches with the refs.

He was somewhat right about the whole "overrated" thing. Sure, "thank you" isnt going to catch on but it is cheesy to chant overrated to a team you BARELY beat at home and will likely get crushed by in the tourney.

Every time Coach knight does a game and I watch it. I get smarter cause of him.

I love Coach Knight doing the games, but I have to admit, I was a little upset when I tuned in and saw Fran Frascilla wasnt doing the game. Knight may know more about the game as a whole, but FF can give you a complete breakdown on every player from his off hand ball skills to his high school coaches favorite food. Seems like nobody loves the game like FF.

During the game, Knight generally talks about the teams that are playing. That alone gives him a better grade than most analysts. Plus, I get to know strategies better through his commentary - something I don't get from most others.

Knight is the single best at this.

The main reason I like him is he shuts up the arrogant musburger. Thy only thing I dislike about my 88 NC game tape is hearing him call the game. Just like the only thing I dislike about the 08 NC game is hearing Packer pull for Memphis.

I love Knight in the studio as an analyst. But he talks too slow to be calling games. He was better Monday, but still not in the league of Fran. Or better yet Jay Bilas, who I feel is the best out there right now.

Do you think Bobby likes Cole, though? I can see where he would bother people with his pro-KU slant. I don't mind, however.

globaljaybird-Bob Knight is so knowledgable about the game, how could you not enjoy him? It sure beats listening to Gottlieb. He must not have known where the free throw line was 'cause he couldn't even hit the backboard with a grain shovel. Knight also will call it as it is; ie, NCAA, Calipari. He didn't step down because the game changed. It's the players and recruiting that got to him. And the NCAA probably will never change for the betterment of the players, just the fortune they provide. Knight has always said he'll be buried face-up. Go Bob!

I love bob knight as a commentator. he may be a little slow at time but he love the game the way I do and focuses on the game. I hate when announcers start talking about duke or syracuse or north carolina during a KU game. The only time that is exceptable is when you are saying ku is probably the favorite but so and so is going to be there and so is team x. What I really hate is when an announcer is clearly pulling for a team. I understand biases occasionally, but try not to be blatant about it. Bobby knight will usually say, so and so got bailed out by a cheap foul there and then say the other team got away with something later. packer was horrible about that in the NC game. sorry about my rant. I got off track. bob knight is probably my second favorite color guy right now behind fran fraschilla.

pohawksfan 4 years, 8 months ago

Knight is fine and his bb knowledge is very good. However, I prefer Fraschilla. His game preparation and knowledge of all the players is excellent. He never rambles and doesn't show bias.

i just remember how Knight compared a fast break catch off a pass looked like Derek Jeter and went on to talk about baseball during a basketball game. wtf? and continuously messed up players names.
