You produced some amazing results and I thank you for that coach!!!! My freshman year we went winless and the whole time I attended KU the football team was non-competitive... I bet those dudes would have taken some tough love and hard treatment to just go 5-6. In 1988 we thought that it would be a cold day in hell the day we went to the Orange Bowl. (and that it was 2 years ago... great win, but freakin freezin) I knew that I better make the trip to Miami or I might never get another chance... Too bad that may be true. You made that BCS victory happen. THANKS COACH!

I liked what he changed about the direction of KU football, making it matter, but the damage to future recruiting and the school's image was too great for that Orange Bowl season to overcome. You just can't treat people the way he apparently did. It's too bad, because I liked him before all this came out.

I will always remember the Nebraska game in 2005. Jayhawks had not beaten the Cornhuskers since 1969, until that game. GREAT MEMORIES. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, COACH MANGINO!

Best of luck and thank you Coach! I'll never forget the 2 amazing wins against NU and the great run in 2007. You did a wonderful job and we'll miss you.

Good Luck Mr Mangino. Thanks for building up the Football team into something to be reckoned with. That said, Lew was just looking for a reason. It will be interesting to see the coach search pan out. Looking for a kinder , gentler , coach. What a joke. Is each candidate going to be scrutinized as closely when it comes to yelling and criticizing their players? Yea the "bear walk" report sounded bad, But when I played football we had bear walks along the sideline under a cable and on dirt. No astro turf but there was plenty of glass and pop can tops (yea it was in the 70s) and nobody worried about our cuts and sliced open hands. Time to put on your big boy pants.

See ya. We'll always appreciate your underachievments and horrible play calling. You had one good season while the Big 12 North sucked an egg. Loser. Beat it

Coach have a good life, hope we can find someone who will continue your record of success.

against all teams creampuffs included. .500 ball. 48/50

against the league, a losing record. 23-41

in all your years here years you had better than 500 against the league. Only 1.

actaully the orange bowl and last year at arrowhead and that nebraska blowout and a few more were very nice, I thank you for those and glad you are history

Thanks for your tireless efforts to improve Jayhawk football, Coach Mangino. Whether or not your methods went too far is not for me to say, there is an ever-shifting line concerning both verbal and physical abuse, is the reality. Some of your players should count themselves lucky they didn't practice/play for Woody Hayes. Others probably would have performed even better. The debate will continue. Best of luck to you, and for your health's sake, go on a diet.

Coach Mangino, Thank so much for the job you did at ku! I think you took it in the shorts the way this was handled! I think Lew should take a good look in the mirror! I also want to thank you for the way you treated my daughter for the last 4 yrs! She has worked for you for four yrs. and from everything she has told us you was nothing but a gentlemen to her and her friend that worked for you as well! All I know is I played alot of football in my day and have had and deserved way worse treatment than these whiney little -astards have supposedly gotten! Times have changed and kids are more concerned with getting home and playing their play stations than worring about getting better on and off the field! I wish you nothing but good things and I hope you land a better job as you deserve it! I just hope it's not against us!!! LOL ps. Lew if you read this try waving to your neighbors once in awhile! Or are you just that much better than all of us?
