The guys (Tom Keegan, Matt Tait, Jesse Newell) analyze the Kansas football position groups following the 2012 spring game. Which position group will be the best in 2012? Which position group should fans be most worried about? The three also give their (very early) picks for the 2012 KU football offensive MVP.

Nice job, guys. I really enjoy these. Do you examine the defense next week?

position group best: O-line. Or maybe Mr. Crist. Also Crist for Offensive MVP, or possibly a RB. But frankly, cannot have a stellar running game without respect for the passing game, which will have to be earned by Dayne Crist. And really, the Trent Green-era Chiefs show us that when you lose an A-rated O-line, you can lose a SuperBowl caliber offense, even if many of the skill position weapons remain...and you risk getting your QB hurt (or a Trent-sized concussion).
This will be a great season for people to see and understand the building blocks of football, on both sides of the ball. You can have a very dangerous, solid team with an above-avg/but competent-in-all-areas defense (which we dont) along with an A-rated O-line (also dont, as they are unproven). The conventional wisdom on the current Weis Jayhawks is that they are way better on offense than defense (which was scary-bad last season). We could contend with our ability to move the ball, if all goes well, but the offense will have trouble getting W's if the defense cannot get stops, especially on key possessions. The yin and yang of pigskin.

A better defense depends on how good these Juco Dline guys will be that are comming in. Juco guys can be like the famous Forrest Gump quote that I hate. The Juco route has worked for Snyder, lets hope it works for us.

Interesting that in the discussion of units none of the units is deemed really bad. Maybe none are the tops in the league but they all appear to be able to compete. That has not been true since '08.
