JayhawkSlant.com's Shay Wildeboor joins Jesse Newell to discuss a potentially huge recruiting day for KU on Wednesday. Where do the Jayhawks stand with DeAndre Daniels (No. 10 according to Rivals.com), Trevor Lacey (No. 24 according to Rivals.com) and Jamari Traylor (No. 141 Rivals.com)? Shay gives the latest on each recruit, breaks down each player's game and also discusses how likely it is that the Jayhawks land all three players.

I have the feeling there are going to be some happy Jayhawk fans tomorrow!
Fingers crossed...

I really hope that Shay is right on about the KU staff expecting three tomorrow. Not excited about the hat ceremony (Lacey, correct?) ... but maybe a recruit wants to detox that spell for KU (and endear him to KU faithful for life).

There is room for Daniels and Lacey to see lots of playing time by the league schedule after Christmas. There, of course, exists the downside that if they flourish this season, they will depart in the spring of 2012. Both could be essential pieces in the immediate roster. Traylor sounds like a terrific 3 or 4 year project for Bill Self and Danny Manning. The type of player who could develop into a first round NBA prospect under the care of our coaching/training staff. If the 3 of them come aboard tomorrow, Bill Self has hit his home run far into the upper deck. A Bo Jackson style blast. I enjoyed Shay Wildeboor's assessment of McLemore, Tharpe and Anderson. Solid recruits with tremendous upsides. Welcome to the Jayhawk Nation, all recruits who have the dreams and foresight to commit to the heart and soul of all NCAA Hoops. In Lawrence, Kansas, the world is your oyster. Bill Self and staff will get you to a favorable seeding in the NCAA Tournament, and probably a league ring along the way. You will face the daunting challenge of becoming a National Champion collegiate ballplayer.

Good post, REHawk! I like your description of a Bo Jackson blast!
The downside of losing talent early next year can be overshadowed with the potential for next year's recruit class, which may be an insane score for us!
College basketball is a funny game; the proverbial "box of chocolates"; so in times when we feel pinned against the wall we may just punch out a Bo blast while when we are supposed to have it made in the shade, we melt in the sun.
That fact alone keeps me attracted to the game. I love to see us win National Championships, but it would be a drag if we won it every year and the game became predictable. With both highs and lows college basketball is more addictive than crack! (no personal experience with that one, but nevertheless...)

I'll be more than ecstatic if we land two...
...and if we miraculously land all three, you'll be spared from hearing from me as I'll probably trip over a thirty-pack, wondering where I parked the laptop. I once was very critical of the six-pack landed by Coach Self when he first arrived (on Jayhawk Slant)--because I thought that was too much youth to meld in: Robinson and Kaun, Jackson and Giles, Galindo and {?}--RussRob, Shaka and Darnell proved to be special, and Coach pointed us in the right direction right off the get-go. To do this again this late in the game would forever link these two classes together for me, for I never thought of the possibility of two rabbits being in the hat.
