The guys (Gary Bedore, Eric Sorrentino, Jesse Newell) discuss the Kansas University players taken (and not taken) in Thursday's NBA Draft. Who will have the better pro career, Cole Aldrich or Xavier Henry? Was Sherron Collins' weight to blame for his draft snub? Did he make the wrong choice to return to KU for four years? The guys answer these questions and also make their early picks for 2010-11 NBA rookie of the year.

I'm not surprised at all. He has always had weight issues. When it counted the most for him personally, he was lazy and got fatter. He was always a ball hog, even when he new he was "on" that night and cost KU several victories this year alone.

jajacut,
You're wrong on every single point you brought up! Do you really watch a lot of KU Basketball or just a game here and there?? Sherron gained weight in the off-season and always lost the weight when it counted most, when the season was about to start.
Regarding your ball hog comments, Self told Sherron to take all those shots. He said he has the green light to shoot any time and expects him to take about 20 shots per game.
Not really sure what games Sherron cost us. I remember him single handedly carrying us through several games, Cornell is one example. We would not have won the championship game against Memphis without Sherron. His steal, 3 pointer and final assist to Chalmers was a big reason we won. So when it counted the most, Sherron always showed up & took care of business for us. He's the winningest player in KU history and the 4th leading scorer! How many games could he have cost us?? Better luck next time.
Too bad the NBA drafts on potential and athleticism and not on players that are proven winners and good leaders.
