Ryan Greene, D.J. Whetter and Kevin Romary hit the studio before heading down to San Antonio to talk about the Roy Williams connection, the Bill Self-OSU rumors that never seem to want to die, who to like in the weekend's other semifinal and the weekly trivia. Oh yeah, and analysis of Saturday's nightcap between the Jayhawks and Tar Heels.

I am soo tired of people saying we are upset about Roy leaving...and you guys got it right. It was how he left... not that he left.

And I don't care that he left, because it allowed us to get Bill Self. Roy's leaving was "a blessing in disguise."

On your Larry Brown comments -

1) He left 1 WEEK after he said he was staying
2) People WERE angry at Larry Brown for leaving - I would even say had some hate for him.

I second TxJyHwk above. People around in '88 will tell you that Larry Brown was a dirty word for quite a while. Romary's right though - people didn't care as much because they just didn't love him the way they loved Roy. I also wholeheartedly believe that had we won the title in 2003, people would have been angrier that Roy left - not faster to forgive.
