Haha! Good response Coach with the shooting comment from the media. Critics want to talk about WKY's missed shots. However, KU missed or didn't shoot well at all. Haters want to ask "what if" WKY did things differently. Well, "what if" KU got hot and made shots? There's always two sides to every game. It takes two teams to have a game. This was a bad game. It happens. You take the win, learn, and move on to the next game.
I loved the "palming" call on Nadiir. How do you call palming? It happens all the time and in many games throughout the country. The ref decides to call it this game against KU. How many times do refs see it and not call it? How many times did he see it all season in his (ref's) conference? He calls it this game against KU? The haters say the refs gave the game away to KU and Withey fouled out. Wow! It seems KU has a lot of calls against them and critics focus on one player or play. This is a common practice among KU haters. I love it.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk GO KU beat the heels
I haven't gone back to review that palming play, but at the time I agreed with it. It appeared that Naadir took a couple of steps in between dribbles. There was something different about that play that made me expect the whistle. It definitely wasn't the average, run-of-the-mill carry that never gets called.
I wonder why no one asks about KU's biggest problem - turnovers. Does anyone remember KU having fewer than 10 in a game? If you turn the ball over 15-18 times, assuming that you score only on a third of possessions, there are at least 10-12 points lost right there! Some of those turnovers result from sloppy passes and lack of concenration in stepping out of bounds.
Another question - if Ben is the best college player, as many reporters claim, how can he have such poor games along with great ones?
Unless KU plays a lot better, I don't think they will handle North Carolina, and certainly not Michigan.
