Say what you will about Frank Martin's intensity on the court. He's earned my respect as a honest, forthright, and hardworking coach who genuinely wants to see his players grow in more ways than just on the basketball court. That's what I loved about Roy Williams, its what I love about Bill Self, and Frank Martin is making that same kind of push to develop young men of integrity and heart who don't give up or make excuses.

I appreciated what he says about cheering for guys who put in the work. K-State has a solid team that can compete, they've unfortunately ended up on the wrong side of some calls and games down the stretch. But here's to Frank Martin and the Wildcats who are indeed better than their record and more solid than their ESPN soundbites. I hope we get to play them again in the final of the Big 12 tournament in March!

I think that Frank Martin has proved himself to be a very classy coach. He looks like a crazy man on the sidelines but he has never ever said unkind things about the other teams or coaches. He takes 100% responsibility for what happens and says if the kids don't perform it's because the coaches didn't prepare them right. HCBS thinks the world of Coach Martin and that is good enough for me. It is great to have that in Manhattan again and while I hate losing to KSU anywhere and anytime it is sure great to have some rivalry back like the old days. We don't have to worry about KSU running away and hiding in another conference like some of our so called rivals.

I agree. He seems like a genuine nice guy despite his sideline antics, which I greatly enjoy. I wish his teams were a bit better. They play hard and sometimes he has had really good players, but he has the disadvantage of having to recruit against K.U. K-State had a pretty good reputation fifteen years ago, and hopefully Martin will build it up again. Just so they don't get better than K.U. Also, what I like about his antics may scare some players away. I hope not. Obviously his bark is much worse than his bite. The Big 12 has some big time coaches as well. It is perhaps the second best league this year. We shall see in the NCAA playoffs. Kansas, Missouri, Baylor, Texas, and Iowa State should make good showings. Hopefully K-State and Oklahoma State will get it. I doubt seven will make it. Surely 5 and maybe 6 will. Looking at the schedules I think K-State's best bet is to beat out Iowa State. Anyway, Good Luck Wildcats and especially Coach Martin.
