HCBS is a Class Coach!
man, what a tough game for the players... you could hear the emotion in coach's voice. no disrespect to texas, who played a great second half
Texas was just too big inside for the hawks. I was at the game....the Twins couldn't even score on their worst post player. It was horrendous to watch.
But, I could tell they were heavy heavy heavy watching them in warm ups. I was wondering why coach hadn't amped them up for this game....then a few moments later they announced the sad ordeal w/ TRobs mom....makes a lot more sense now...the team was really down, but probably not too far out of character
Wasn't able to see the game because of a mandatory coaching clinic. Did KU just fall apart the second half? It is very shocking that 51 points were scored on KU at Allen in one half-is that the record?
TRob, all the best to you and your sister. I wish I had the words. I do know that your family now includes every fan and KU alum in the world.
ku went frigid...they scored like 9 points the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half.
Ref's completely sucked ace all night long on both ends, and kept the game from developing any rhythm. I was sitting in the stands watching the clock at 15:30....then @ 11:40 25 minutes of real time had passed because they called a foul about every 20 seconds.
One of the hardest games I've ever had to watch.
Marcus keeps popping threes at the wrong time.
Kief isn't tough enough down low.
Selby is in the middle of a shooting slump.
I don't know what's wrong with EJ lately, but he's on a slide too.
KU lost because they couldn't maintain composure. They couldn't get any points in the paint. They got out rebounded. Shot 62% from free throw. Kief & Cus missed the front end of several 1/1's.
Bad game. But they happen.
Texas exposed our two big weaknesses. Our perimeter players are not playmakers, and our bigs are not meateaters. Taylor and Selby need to figure out how to make shots off the dribble when the opportunity presents itself, and keep opposing guards from getting past them. The Morris twins need to learn how to post and defend the post better.
From now on other teams are simply going to try pushing the Morris twins around and forcing Taylor and Selby to handle the ball and make plays. So the four of them need to step up so that Reed, Robinson and the rest of the team can take advantage of some openings.
The Morris Twins Need to stop running their damned mouths and play basketball.
The twins seemed to me to be the only two that wanted to finish the game. Marcus and the boys wanted this game bad. They will be back on Tuesday and destroy the buffs!
you're absolutely right. they did want to finish it.
problem is, they didn't want to play the other 35 minutes. they were not being as aggressive as they needed to be....settling for outside shots, etc.
.....arrgghhhhh....i'm obviously angry with them & especially Marcus for getting a t for running his mouth. i thought they'd learn to impress by putting points up, not by trash talk.
Classy coach, players and team. All the best going forward!
