Kansas coach Bill Self talks to reporters following the Jayhawks' 80-74 loss to Davidson on Dec. 19, 2011.

During the football season, rabid KU fans could not wait for the basketball season to begin; that excitement will continue to fall off as the team is revealed. Oh well, spring practice begins in March in anticipation of football.
Do you scout, Self. Who is at fault if the team is not ready COACH?!
Was at the game, Davidson was just the better team, Stats show it.
These guys are equals? Seriously Coach? I didn't know they started a legit 7 footer or guys with 40 inch verticals, equals huh?
Do you know anything about coaching? You want your players to come out ready to play and that means they have to think any team they play can beat them and are "their equal".
Back In August, I had my head ripped off for calling this a ten loss team--make it eleven, minimum. One didn't even need to scout this team as the "wonder" of the internet told us that if you jammed them inside, they would go outside for the quick, unguarded three. Well. shock--they did. They didn't count on playing the Jayhawks who choked the national title away to Syracuse by not being able to make 50% of their free throws. We, seemingly, don't care about the "little" things like turnovers, free throws, playing defense, or resembling a team when the going gets tough.
If any of the supposed manically supportive Jayhawk fans don't get it yet, it's not the Morris twins, Selby or Little we miss, it's the maturity of the ballhandlers, Reed and Morningstar. And while several frequent writers continue to mock the possibility of Adams' academic qualifications and continually discount him, without him we are dead in the water next year. We keep stocking-up on big men, but we are doing nothing to help get the ball up the court, get an assist, pass the ball to an open man, or do anything more than lob an alley-oop to the next big dude.
If I'm playing Kansas, I'm pressing them until the next turnover record falls--and it will be worse next year. New flash--guards are supposed to do more than stand around and wait for a another brick to launch from three point land.
Until massive, perhaps miraculous, changes are made, here is our future: two losses to Baylor, two losses to Missouri, and roadies to A&M, Oklahoma-Snake, Kansas-Steak, and Texas. We'll fall in the second round of the Big 12, and choke away the first round of the NCAAs.
I apologize--this is a thirteen loss team.
No way this is a 13 loss team. Off nights happen. Lay off the peyote down there in AZ.
