no, coach k state didn't play well.. all day the qb missed his target and
our guys were out of position all day... we couldn't stop the run hardly ever..
we missed tackles all day and again because of todd our defense had to much
pressure on them. coach, good luck at a d-II school..

Coach, you are clueless. Stay on the defensive end this week. You helped nothing. You are only still at KU because of Todd's first 3 yrs. Now that every team in the country can predict everything you are going to do it's easy to defend. What's wrong with Opurum? Why not try running some? You said they did things to stop the run. How do you know, you only ran the ball 5 times in the first half, not counting Todd's two fumble runs. Watch the tape and see how pathetic your play calling is.

I think some people need to remember that a couple of years ago a Mangino led team won the Orange Bowl. He also has put together outstanding offensive teams and defensive teams during his 8 years at KU. Prior to Mangino, KU football was laid waste at the hands of Terry Allen. Glen Mason had some good teams but he also had some bad ones. Mangino has done an outstanding job with the program he is running. I'm sorry that this year is so disappointing, but the Big 12 is a very competitive league and Mark Mangino is not the guy on the field fumbling and throwing interceptions in the other teams' red zone and in key situations. Reesing is in a funk. We know Reesing is better than this because he has proved it over the last two and a half seasons. In 2003, Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions went 3-9, and followed that up in 2004 with a 4-7 record. I'm not trying to compare Mangino to Patterno, that's not the point. Some of these people who are trashing Mangino would have been throwing Paterno under the bus in those '03 and '04 seasons had they been Penn St fans. Paterno went 11-1 in 2005. Some years don't turn out the way we'd like. Even at places like Penn State. Show some respect and loyalty to Mangino. He's done a great job. Remember the 11 year skid to K-State? Mangino ended that. The ridiculous streak to Nebraska? Mangino ended that. And we all know that Mangino's team beat a Vince Young led Texas team in 2004, but the Refs had other ideas that day. OU gave up 30 points to K-State last week - I suppose OU's defensive coordinator needs to be fired for that? Whatever. Bowen's defense gave up 17 to that same K-State team on the road on a day that the offense didn't do much to help. If you don't understand college football, please don't reveal your ignorance on KUSports.com

Calling coach pathetic is not appropriate, Jayhawk nation should be proud to have a coach of Mangino's calliber at KU... the jayhawks will return to glory at the appropriate time, may have to wait a couple of seasons. Coach isn't perfect and neither are the players, give it a rest...

I've been going to every home KU football game since the early 80s, and I can't imagine any other long time fan dogging on Mangino the way they are doing. I've sat out many years in the cold, only to be dominated. Mangino has done an amazing job completely turning around a program that was a laughing stock. Mason never got us to #2 and an Orange Bowl win. Say what you want about our opponents that year, but we beat Virginia Tech which was a top 10 school. I'm assuming that most of the people angry with him are the newcomers that just started liking KU football since they've been good.

Remember when Bill Self lost in the first round of the NCAA tourney a few years in a row and everyone on here was complaining about him? Didn't he go on to win the national championship?!

Keep things in perspective, we will have bad years occasionally; in both football and basketball. Reesing and company need our support and respect, not fickle fair weather fans. As someone who has witnessed such change first hand, I have complete respect for Mangino and the continued progress of KU football.

Next time you start slamming Mangino, remember just how far he has taken us and how far he will take us in the future. The guy has proven he can recruit and coach with nothing, and will continue to build a program we can all be proud of. Rock chalk!
