Eventually the Kansas football offense might get back to playing one quarterback week in and week out, the way the Jayhawks did in Les Miles’ first season as head coach. But for the time being at least, it appears KU will keep rotating at the position.
The Jayhawks’ starting quarterback in their season opener, Thomas MacVittie, had his last name misspelled on the back of his jersey Saturday night versus Coastal Carolina. Perhaps the “MacVitte” on his shoulders was an omen that the Kansas football team would run into some issues at QB.
Les Miles’ quarterback secret lasted about as long as possible, all the way up to a few minutes before his Kansas football team made its season debut Saturday night, when senior Thomas MacVittie was finally announced as the starter in KU's eventual 38-23 loss to Coastal Carolina.
