NCAA Tournament 2017: 28 in a row and counting...

Photo detail

2015-16 — After a 27-4 regular season, the Jayhawks won three straight games in the Big 12 tournament to take the postseason crown and enter the NCAA Tournament at 30-4. On Selection Sunday, KU landed the No. 1 overall seed in the Big Dance — the sixth No. 1 seed in 13 seasons under Bill Self — and the Jayhawks took that and ran, knocking off Austin Peay, UConn and Maryland (led by former Jayhawk Mark Turgeon) en route to the Elite Eight, where they faced Villanova in Louisville, Ky., where the top-seeded Jayhawks struggled offensively throughout the night and were ice cold from the outside in a 64-59 loss to the eventual national champion Wildcats. Kansas finished the season 33-5.
