Kansas University’s basketball team staggered home from Ames, Iowa on Jan. 25 with a 5-3 record in Big 12 play and a lot of folks figuring the Jayhawks’ run of 11 straight league titles was nearing an unsightly end. The resilient squad’s never-say-die attitude has resulted in seven straight victories in conference action, and counting the ‘W’ against Kentucky, eight in a row overall. By Gary Bedore
