What was with that ISU fan charging at Bill Self?? Great win tonight Jayhawks. EJ put on quite a show!

Would love to hear more about the guy that charged at Bill Self. Did he say anything? Judging by how far away people are pointing and looking at the guy it must have been a pretty disruptive action.

Students were throwing stuff at the team as they left the floor. Folks felt pretty disrespected by EJs dunk

Well they need to grow up then, its a game. If that's whats so upsetting to them in life then they need to get out more and live. I've been at the last 3 losses at Allen field house and it sucked, but I wasn't going to cry about it and attack other people. That guy should be really embarrassed of himself.

EJ's dunk was no worse than what Matt Forte did to end the OK State game in Allen. We didn't throw a hissyfit.

read somewhere that Elijah had a police escort off the floor after his interview with HOlly.

Yeah, they took him out a different exit

Nice job Elijah!

I posted it on the pic of EJ's last second shot clock shot but,
Why were the scoreboards and clocks blank? The scoreboard behind EJ is blank and the shot clock above the basket is blank.
But the ribbon is lit up.
justinryman 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Maybe its the true definition of shooting, "lights out"?
nkrug 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Hey Justinryman, I think it has something to do with the electrical current to the shotclock and scoreboard causes it to "pulse" a bit. It's too fast for our eyes to see as it's happening but when shooting with a shutterspeed of 1/1000th of a second, the really fast frame rate can pick up gaps in illumination.

Ah ha!
Thanks Nick!
Awesome photos as always

Watch how much attention the dunk gets at the end of the game instead of his 39 point performance. Amazed how the media will focus on the negativity instead of something positive.

Great job Elijah! (and Nick) The last pic with Coach Self and Holly Rowe is pretty poignant.

That fan should be beat with a rubber hose and should serve at least 30 days for not having a effin life. Got to be kiddin me this bis a ball game..why go after coach self. He should be at least charged with disorderly.
Lulufulu85 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Seriously! Absolutely. Atleast attempted battery or something. KUs lawyers have to do something about that.

Would have been a better picture if the guy was being tazed! lol

The other picture that is priceless is the one that Coach Self is yelling at the referee. You can tell that Coach Self was really giving it to him. Love the referees reaction. Seemed like that technical actually helped our team.
plasticJHawk 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Yeah, look at EJ's face in that picture when Self is going after the ref. Priceless.

I'm surprised at the lack of comments about the game deciding call that the official obviously missed. Great win for Iowa State that was taken away at the end. I will enjoy seeing the Jayhawks lose to any of the seven Big Ten teams they have to face in the Big Dance!!!

We were 2-0 against the big 10 in the tourney last year. And we're 3-0 against THE Ohio State team in the past 15 months.
I hope that we get a chance to avenge our loss to Michigan State.
I'm guessing that KU isn't trembling at the thought playing against Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, or Michigan and Indiana either.
teechurgye 3 months, 3 weeks ago
The no call didn't cost ISU the game. They had overtime and did nothing.
Yes, the refs were bad...all night. Both sides of the ball.
johnnyphoton 3 months, 3 weeks ago
What, are you a Northwestern fan?
albraun 3 months, 3 weeks ago
There were a couple of charging fouls against KU earlier that, on replay, should clearly have gone the other way. Had THOSE calls been made correctly, the one you're referring to, which I will admit was blown, would not have mattered. More importantly though, ISU is CLEARLY a ONE-dimensional team. 3's, 3's, 3's. They barely made 25% of their shots within 5 feet of the basket. And they don't defend worth beans. KU made over 50% of their shots from the field overall. And the 2 highest scoring games KU has had all season have been against ISU. Not even the no-names we played at the beginning of the season let us score as much as your guys do. It's not a very sound game strategy to ignore all the other aspects of the game and just hope a deluge of 3's will save your butts. But that's what seems to be Freddy-boy's game plan

Perhaps it would help if you began by selecting an article actually discussing the game rather than a mere compilation of game photos? Just click on the blue & white kusports.com logo in the upper left corner of this page and Voila! You will again be surprised as you are magically transported to a place containing coverage and dozens of comments about the very topic you so covet.

You remind me of the guy that mistakenly got extra money on his paycheck and said nothing, next paycheck the extra amount is taken out and he goes and complains. When he is asked why he did not say anything the previous month, he says: I can understand you making an error once, but twice is unacceptable.
If you were looking for the right call, it should have been EJ being pushed while driving to the basket, you probably don't know what that is since you follow the Big 10. FYI, the "block" you are referring to was not called a blocking foul; the call came later when both payers were on the floor and the ISU player held EJ while he was trying to get to the ball.

I'm not sure why Johnson's last dunk was considered so disrespectful. He was pumped and he had the opportunity to do it before the game expired. Sorry, don't see the disrespect.
sallyp 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Talk about a crap call, the intential on Travis was bogus, good night, did they see the player grabbing Perry's arm when Perry was on the floor, no they overlook those as did the fans. I didn't see the disrespect either, but I guess the "nice" thing to do was dribble it out, oh well, Elijah was caught up in the hype of the fantastic game!!!
