Will any cheerleaders be present during the game? Might have been interesting to have had a few of them from past years show up to support the cause and lead the crowd during the Rock Chalk chant.

Wow! Max still has a full head of hair. Or is he wearing a rug?

I watched the game on kuathletics.com
The video kept cutting out and it was painful to listen to Bud Stallwarth doing the announcing. He wouldn't stop talking about the teams weren't playing any defense. After the 30th time of him talking about defense, I hit the mute button. Great game though. Couldn't have asked for a better ending with Paul and Mario hitting 3 pointers!

Hey Nick (and LJW) - thanks for the coverage and pix (how about some video)...sorry, but one correction in the pix/captions: that's Ryan Robertson (#4) going up for a lay-up (not Nick Collison) - I know, both wore #4 and the paleskins all kind of look alike, but Collison was wearing a t-shirt under the jersey.

All these nice photos came from Mike Yoder and Richard Gwin. Thanks for the heads up on the Robertson photo.

Here are some that I would have expected be there (we know Kirk couldn't make it because his wife is almost due with their baby). And maybe some of these guys were around (I'm basing this off the pics I saw). Can't get 'em all. Wish I was there. Looked like a really fun time.
-Raef Lafrentz -Jacque Vaughn -Kevin Pritchard -Rex Walters
Second Tier: -Russell Robinson/Tyrel/Brady/Sasha/Keith Langford - probably because they are playing overseas -Jerrod Haase -Steve Woodbury -Adonis Jordan -Richard Scott
Third Tier -Calvin Rayford -Jeff Boschee -Michael Lee

Would have LOVED to have seen Cedric Hunter, Mark Turgeon, Greg Dreiling, Mark Randle (even though he made an appearance), Richard Scott, amd several of the former players already mentioned. Would have loved to have seen Roy make an appearance too.

I just look at these photos and grin like an idiot. It's never been so apparent to me before now how much I care about this program. Well, maybe that one time in April of 2008... but I digress. These guys are like family members to me. To someone my age, growing up in the '80s, it was really great to see Kellogg and Valentine out there. It's like meeting two new uncles or something. This event was a genius idea, and I will never forget it (or erase the game from my DVR).
Today has been a great day to be a Jayhawk, Rock Chalk for life.

Man I wish I had seen it live. Darnell V still looks like he could destroy some guards in his 50s!

Where was Rex Walters, Adonis Jordan, Steve Woodberry, Jeff Boschee, Jerod Haase, Raef Lafrentz, Eric Chenowith, Darren Hancock, Kurt Hinrich, Drew Gooden, Keith Langford, and Aaron Miles? I think we could have "Legends of the Phog V2.0" next year!!!!!
MrJayhawk 1 year, 8 months ago
Eric Chenowith was there in street clothes. Drew Gooden did a video piece apologizing for no attending due to family and schedule issues. Can't say about the others.

Eric Chenowith? really? that would not excite me.

Great pics that brought back so many memories. .

The former players I saw there that weren't playing included
Kevin Pritchard Mark Randle Jeff Gueldner Mike Maddox Chris Piper Sean Pearson Jeff Carey Eric Chenowith Greg Gurley but he works for KU Moulaye Niang
Gooden had a 30th BIrthday party already planned with friends and family, Hinrich's wife was giving birth at any moment. Don't know about Vaughn. I'm guessing Walters and Turgeon are getting ready for the season. That was a good time though.

There were some older guys that didn't show up either. How far back did they go to ask people? I was there when Jo Jo White, Vernon Vanoy and Roger Bohnenstiel(sp?) were rocking the place. Wonder where they are now?
ralster 1 year, 8 months ago
This event was a great idea by Bill Self, who called Paul Pierce and got the whole thing rolling when Pierce said "yes" to doing it. Just awesome! Lifetime experience.

These pictures are amazing and gave me goosebumps...wish I could have been there. I also wish Langford had been there.

Really glad I was able to be there...would love to see more of these events in the future. I got to wondering...how many other schools could put on a game like this with so many former and current pros?
eddieroot 1 year, 8 months ago
It was beautiful. Just like the reunion in 1998. What a special program we have.
Thanks to anyone that had a hand in planning and excecuting this wonderful event.
