KANSAS UNIVERSITY SENIOR JOSH KIRK, SECOND FROM RIGHT, races to a first-place finish in the second heat of the 100-meter portion of the Kansas Relays men’s decathlon. With five events completed, Kirk was the leader after the first day of competition Wednesday at Memorial Stadium.
