Jeff Himes, longtime equipment manager for the Kansas football program, finally decided to retire during the 2020 offseason, after 32 years of working behind the scenes for the Jayhawks. Former KU head coach Glen Mason brought Himes to Lawrence from Kent State in 1988 and Himes worked for seven different head coaches before retiring.
A fixture around the Jayhawks’ facilities since he was hired way back in 1988, KU equipment manager Jeff Himes retired at the end of April, closing the book on his 32 years with the team. By Benton Smith
