Woods and Woodland: Not on top, but still contending

Gary Woodland and Tiger Woods, playing partners Sunday, were hunting the same dangling carrot during strong weeks at Bellerive Country Club in the 100th PGA Championship. They both were seeking to slay outside doubts about their ability to achieve firsts. Woodland sought his first major title and came closer than ever, finishing in a tie for sixth. His previous best was a tie for 12th. By Tom Keegan
