If you go by games behind instead of win percentage, then KU is tied for second place with OU at 2.5 games behind. TU and WVU are 3 behind, TTU 4, OSU 4.5 and TCU 5.5. Why penalize teams for playing more games? Total conference games played to date are as follows: KU - 14, KSU - 13, OU - 12, OSU -12; TU, WVU, TTU, ISU all at 11, TCU - 10 and BU - 9. They will make up some of these games, but certainly not all of them.

Garry - Notice that there are no place #s in the standings. Obviously, 2 teams can’t occupy the same line of print so it’s very reasonable to use some method of sorting. Winning % is a reasonable method and no one is being penalized at this time by LJW. That doesn’t mean your point won’t be valid when the season ends an some teams have missed some/many of their toughest games.
The real trick will be seeing what happens if a top seeded team has a CV positive DURING the tournament.

If a team can’t play in the tournament due to COVID protocol, it should be a forfeit
