Bogeys catch up with Gary Woodland in Round 3 of PGA Championship

By Staff     Aug 8, 2020

A long shot to chase another major championship entering the third round at the PGA Championship, Gary Woodland fully dropped out of contention Saturday.

The former University of Kansas golfer had his most difficult day yet at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, finishing with six bogeys.

Woodland birdied two of the first seven holes — though a bogey on the par-4 sixth also came during that run — before finding himself in his worse stretch of the championship.

A bogey on the ninth hole preceded the same on the 11th, 12th, 14th and 18th holes, leaving Woodland at 73 (+3) for the round and moving him to 2-over entering Sunday’s final round.
