Kansas soccer records draw with No. 14 Texas Tech

By Staff Report     Oct 13, 2019

More than 100 minutes was not enough to separate the Kansas Jayhawks and No. 14 Texas Tech Red Raiders as the two squads played to a 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon at John Walker Soccer Complex.

Junior midfielder Ceri Holland led the squad with six shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Peters tallied four saves, one coming on a TTU penalty kick, en route to her sixth shutout of the year.

The tie brought the Jayhawks’ record to 10-4-1 on the year and 2-2-1 in league play. Texas Tech extended its unbeaten streak to 12 games, now at 11-1-2 in 2019 and 3-0-2 in the Big 12.

The Red Raiders ended the match outshooting the Jayhawks by a 14-11 margin. Kansas was able to put seven of its shots on target, compared to just four for the home team.

Kansas will host Kansas State at 7 p.m. Friday at Rock Chalk Park.
