By Staff Report     Mar 22, 2019

Kansas tallied two victories on the first day of the two-day series against Green Bay at Arrocha Ballpark on Friday.

The Jayhawks (10-20) used their power at the plate to propel them to 9-0 victory in game one with six runs coming off two home runs by Miranda Rodriguez and Sydnee Ramsey. In game two against the Phoenix, KU shutdown a Green Bay comeback to conclude play on the first day of competition with a 5-4 win.

“Super excited about getting two wins today and it is a big step for us,” Jennifer McFalls said in a team release. “You never take a team for granted and Green Bay doesn’t have the greatest record, but we showed up tonight and we needed to focus on what we do.”

The series finale is slated for 12 p.m. Saturday.
