KU women’s basketball drops 76-66 decision to TCU for 8th loss in a row

The Kansas women’s basketball team could not get a win in February.

KU dropped a 76-66 decision to TCU at home Wednesday night, suffering its eighth loss in as many games during the month of February. The Jayhawks (12-15, 2-4 Big 12) have not won a game since their 88-79 victory over Oklahoma on Jan. 30.

A trio of players scored in double figures for Kansas in a losing effort against TCU. Christalah Lyons led the way with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting, while Austin Richardson went 7-for-14 from the floor to finish with 16 points. Kylee Kopatich scored 14 points, going 5-of-9 on the night.

The Horned Frogs (19-8, 9-7) were led by Jordan Moore, who ended up with a game-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting. Kianna Ray also scored 18 points for the visitors.

Kansas will play host to West Virginia at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Love the ladies, but couldn't have been much more wrong about how this season would play out. Although it's not entirely over yet, it's effectively over, and it's been a huge disappointment, again not with the ladies on the team, but with the won-loss results.

At this point, not sure if Schneider is the right guy. What is he, like 35-65 after 4 years?

At this point??? We could tell this two years ago. The guy has won a whopping 5% of Big 12 games -- the only wins he has are powderpuff non-cons. Zengy picked another dud! I feel sorry for these student athletes. And AD Long should too. NEXT!!!

I never understood why we couldn't get a women's basketball head coach in here that could make our women's team a force from year to year. We've got the facilities, the backing and everything needed to make our program successful. Let's find a young up and comer that can come in here and put their stamp on our program and stick around and build this thing! No reason we shouldn't be a top 25 team every season like the men's team.

The Schneider-apologists are cricket quiet lately....

Glen Miller we do not have the backing to make this a successful team, Facilities yes but backing no. Women's basketball is not even a mild profile topic around here. Even the Lawrence Journal World doesn't care. They still have the schedule results from the 2016-2017 season up. that was 2 season ago. Mangino said it best and it relates to sports at KU, "Dollar signs, that's right Dollar signs."

It's not a popular product because it is an awful product. Especially lately. Bonnie fizzled. Schneider never even got the pilot light lit. Zengy screwed the program. AD Long needs to clean house and bring in a top notch coach. You can't blame this on "lack of backing".

John Joseph Gorski 11 months ago

You realize "lack of backing" is the exact reason the football team sucked under zinger. Its the exact reason WBB has been so bad.

Try ....lack of talent choice

You seem to have a lack of understanding of the situation on this matter and I have a lack of time to educate you on it. Perhaps you will realize the issues with some research and thought.
