“Hawk Talk” isn’t just for University of Kansas coaches anymore.

The radio show that typically allows fans to hear from KU men’s basketball coach Bill Self, football coach Les Miles or women’s basketball coach Brandon Schneider is adding a new voice to its lineup.

Beginning this week, Athletic Director Jeff Long will have an hour-long “Hawk Talk” of his own, as well.

Long, like Self and Miles, will be joined for each show by Brian Hanni, the play-by-play voice of KU men’s basketball and football, with the debut broadcast set for Thursday at 7 p.m., on the Jayhawk Radio Network.

The athletic director’s version of “Hawk Talk” will record from Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom, 545 Wakarusa Dr., where interested KU fans can attend and submit questions during the show.

Unlike the coaches’ shows, which usually air weekly during the season, Long’s will be going out once a month.

Produced by Learfield IMG College, Long’s “Hawk Talk” episodes will air live on Jayhawk Radio Network affiliates. Re-airings will be available on Jayhawk Television affiliates, such as Midco Sports Network, 38 The Spot (in the Kansas City metro area), Spectrum Sports and Cox Communications, as well as on ESPN+.
