KU softball suffers 10-0 loss to No. 2 Oklahoma

By Staff Report     Apr 12, 2019

Despite holding No. 2 Oklahoma scoreless for the first three innings, Kansas dropped the series opener by a 10-0 margin at Arrocha Ballpark.

Lexy Mills started the game by striking out the first three Oklahoma batters. It only marks the second time this season that the Sooners have had all three batters strike out in an inning.

Mills entered the fourth inning without allowing an Oklahoma run, but the Sooners were able to plate five runs in the fourth. Mills was relieved by Tarin Travieso, who pitched the next 2.2 innings and allowed five runs too. Hannah Todd replaced Travieso and earned the last out of the sixth inning.

With no runners heading into the sixth inning down 10 runs, Kansas (14-25, 2-5 Big 12) broke up the OU perfect game with a Miranda Rodriguez walk and the no-hitter with a Sam Dellinger hit in back-to-back at bats.

The second game is slated to begin at 2 p.m. Saturday.
