Four kickoff times on the Kansas football team’s 2018 schedule are set, with the Big 12 revealing on Thursday television broadcast assignments for early-season matchups, as well as special dates for the coming fall.

The Jayhawks begin their fourth season under head coach David Beaty against Nicholls State at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, on Sept. 1. The opener is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and air on the Jayhawk Network within the state of Kansas and the Kansas City metro area.

Week 2 takes KU to Central Michigan, where the program gets its first chance this calendar year at putting an end to its 46-game road losing streak — 49 if you count all games played outside of Lawrence. Those wishing to watch the Jayhawks try to win their first road game since 2009 will have to do so via ESPN+, a new subscription-based streaming service. The rematch of the Chippewas’ 45-27 win in Lawrence this past season will kick off at 2 p.m. (CT), in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Kansas closes its non-conference portion of the schedule on Sept. 15, with a home game against the Big Ten’s Rutgers. It will air on FOX Sports Networks, with an 11 a.m. kickoff.

Because KU’s season finale comes on a non-Saturday, the Big 12 also announced details for the Jayhawks’ day-after-Thanksgiving home meeting with Texas. The Nov. 23 matchup in Lawrence begins at 11 a.m. on FOX Sports 1.

Every home Big 12 football game is available for telecast, in accordance with the Conference’s 13-year joint agreement with FOX Sports and ESPN. Each league member is allotted one member institution retained football game (MIRFG) for telecast on an institutional platform. Per Big 12 contractual agreements, at least four non-Saturday games are played annually by league teams.

All remaining Big 12 package television selections will be announced 12 or six days ahead of time throughout the season.

Kansas made three appearances on FSN in 2017 and two on JTV. KU was featured on FS1 in three of its 2017 games, ESPNU in two games, ESPN for one game and kicked off one time on FOX.

Kansas went 1-11 in 2017, losing 11 straight to close the season.
