Dellinger’s dinger propels KU softball past Iowa State in regular-season finale

By Staff Report     May 6, 2018

Sam Dellinger belted a three-run home run in the first inning to set the tone in the Kansas softball team’s 4-1 win over Iowa State on Sunday at Arrocha Ballpark at Rock Chalk Park.

Dellinger accounted for the Jayhawks’ other run when she scored on a double from Mikayla Warren in the sixth.

Sarah Miller went the distance in the circle, as she limited the Cyclones to six hits over seven frames. Miller struck out five and walked three.

The Jayhawks (27-25, 2-16) took two of three from the Cyclones to wrap up the regular season, but still finished two games behind Iowa State for the final spot in the Big 12 tournament — which will take place Friday and Saturday in Oklahoma City.
