'Gritty' No. 16 seed Penn ready to defend 3-point arc versus Midwest No. 1 Kansas

As Penn basketball Steve Donahue processed the NCAA Tournament bracket and his team's matchup with Kansas, he soon found himself reflecting on his time as head coach at Cornell, when he faced Bill Self and the Jayhawks inside Allen Fieldhouse, in 2010. “It was a great basketball game and memorable for our guys for sure,” Donahue said, referring to a 71-66 KU victory that wasn’t decided until the game’s final minute. Both of the Kansas men’s and women’s track and field teams placed 17th at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend and KU junior Hussain Al Hizam won a national title in the men’s pole vault Friday at Gilliam Indoor Stadium in College Station, Texas.

Skyler Messinger's three-run homer lifts KU baseball to series sweep over No. 20 St. John's

The players in the Kansas baseball dugout just couldn’t help themselves while Skyler Messinger trotted around the bases. When Messinger crossed home plate, he was surrounded by his teammates on the field. He chest bumped catcher Jaxx Groshans and handed out as many high fives as he could. His three-run homer proved to be the difference in KU’s 6-5 win over No. 20 St. John’s.
