Third-year Kansas women’s basketball coach Brandon Schneider picked up his first road Big 12 victory, defeating Texas Tech, 60-47, Wednesday night in United Supermarkets Arena.

Kansas (11-3 overall, 2-1 in the Big 12) never trailed and led 24-7 heading into the second quarter.

In just the third conference game, Brianna Osorio led the Jayhawks (11-3, 2-1 Big 12) with a career-high 19 points, which included four 3-pointers. Christalah Lyons added 15 points, six rebounds and seven assists, while Kylee Kopatich had 14 points in coach Brandon Schneider's first conference road win in three seasons.

The Jayhawks led by as many as 19 points in a wire-to-wire win over the Red Raiders (6-8, 0-3). It was their first Big 12 road win since Feb. 28, 2015.

KU’s aggressive defense led to 20 turnovers for Texas Tech (6-8, 0-3).

Three games into the Big 12 season, Schneider already has as many regular-season conference victories as he did in the first two years combined of his rebuilding effort.

Kansas will play host to sixth-ranked Baylor at 2 p.m. Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.

One play from starting the Big 12 season 3-0. Now their schedule gets just a bit more difficult. Hopefully there will be a big crowd to help KU upset Baylor. Go, fight, win.

I love the turnaround! Great job Coach Schneider! Seems like a good hire by (ahem) Zenger.

I was thinking the same thing. Defies logic.

KSU passed on him and hired a guy who got a DUI on I-35 in Kansas instead tho!

The KC Stars fav player had a fantastic game for the opponents!!! More fouls than points.

Baylor and Texas are loaded with talent so they will be tuff as nails. Wvu is injured and was beaten by that other school at home last night. Congrats to Schneider and the ladies!

Really great start, just shows the progress. Wasn't but a few weeks back people talking about Coach like they were talking about Beaty wanting him fired and another terrible hire by Zenger. Looks to me like he is progressing quite nicely. - I think anyone that IS anyone knows that now we hit a huge tough spot in our schedule - getting Baylor - -Texas - -still playing really well and that is without one of our best players who we lost for the season right off the bat. - -keep it up ladies

I really wish I could see this team with Washington in the lineup this year. I think they would be 3-0 in the Big XII if she were able to play. Things are looking up for next season though.

These are fun games to listen to, too. Jimmy Chavez and David Lawrence do a nice job.
