Texas freshman center Mohamed Bamba will miss Monday night's game against Kansas because of a sprained left toe he suffered last week, the school announced Monday afternoon.

Bamba, who is averaging 13.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game, sat out the entire second half of the Longhorns' victory against Oklahoma State on Saturday. He suffered the toe injury in a loss to Kansas State last week.

When the Jayhawks played Texas in their Big 12 opener on Dec. 29, Bamba recorded 22 points, 15 rebounds and eight blocks in KU's 92-86 victory.

Kansas will tip off against Texas at 8 p.m. Monday at Allen Fieldhouse.

Clay Young's minutes opportunity just improved. As well as the likelihood of Devonte and Svi exiting to a standing ovation before the final buzzer.

I except to see a heavy dosage of SDS

Mo Bamba is a beast. It certainly improves our odds of success. Like you Johnathan, I do hope Clay Young gets more than token minutes tonight. Looking forward to tonight.

We apparently hired Tonya Harding and her goof boyfriend to slam a pipe on all the toes of our opponents.

(can't wait to see this re-posted on Tech and TX fan sites)

I think we can beat Texas by 15-20 now without Bamba in there.

...all the more reason to play DeSousa tonight.

Kid needs experience.

Meh. Texas is better off without Bamba. Shaka doesn’t know how to use the big guy anyways.
