Jeff Long hires former Alabama and Michigan administrator as KU football's senior associate AD

Less than a week into his time as athletic director at the University of Kansas, Jeff Long is bringing a fresh approach to how the department will handle its long-struggling football program. Long announced Monday the hiring of Mike Vollmar, a former associate athletic director for football at Alabama and Michigan, as KU’s senior associate AD for football administration. By Benton Smith

Jayhawks think freshman RB Pooka Williams can be 'dangerous' in open field

This past Saturday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, former Louisiana prep football star Pooka Williams was recognized at the Greater New Orleans Male Amateur Athlete of the Year during the Allstate Sugar Bowl’s Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame Banquet. It was an event, of course, Williams couldn’t afford to attend. Louisiana’s reigning Mr. Football, following Williams’ electrifying senior season at Hahnville High, now calls the Sunflower State home. By Benton Smith

Improved depth in KU's secondary has Jayhawks upbeat about group's potential

'I just feel like it's my time': KU TE James Sosinski on a mission this fall

It has been a bizarre journey for James Sosinski. A junior tight end for the Kansas football team, Sosinski hasn’t played a meaningful snap since his senior year of high school in 2014. Since then, Sosinski has switched positions, changed schools and even competed in a different sport to get to this point. As a result, Sosinski wants to prove something when he steps on the field in David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium this fall. By Shane Jackson
