By Staff Report     Apr 19, 2018

Kansas junior standout runner Sharon Lokedi continued her record-setting season Thursday, shattering a few records in the 5,000-meter run at the Kansas Relays at Rock Chalk Park.

Lokedi, from Eldoret, Kenya, broke her own school record in 15:42.76, smashing a facility record set in 2016 by Oklahoma State’s Aurora Dybedokken (16:08.16) and a meet record set by Patty Murray of Western Illinois (16:02.27 in 1986). Lokedi’s time ranks No. 2 in the NCAA this season and in the top-20 in the world this year.

KU senior Hannah Dimmick won the unseeded section of the 800-meter run in 2:09.18 while junior Teri Huslig, a product of Veritas Christian, placed third in the women’s heptathlon. Among heptathletes, Huslig won the 800-meter run and was fourth in the long jump.
