KU soccer draws with Texas Tech

By Staff Report     Sep 24, 2017

Sophomore Sophie Maierhofer scored for Kansas’ soccer team, and the Jayhawks played Texas Tech to a 1-1 draw Sunday in Lubbock, Texas.

The tie moved Kansas to 5-5-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the Big 12. Texas Tech is 8-2-1 and 1-0-1.

“I thought the kids were tremendous today,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “This is a good result. We’ll take the tie based on the situation. Coming from behind, especially when I felt like we had the better of it in the first half, was big to get the momentum back before halftime. I’m proud of the kids today.”
