KU volleyball swept at Texas

Madison Rigdon returned to the court for the first time in three games, but the Kansas volleyball team was swept by second-ranked Texas (25-23, 25-22, 25-16) on Wednesday at Gregory Gymnasium.

The Longhorns (22-2, 14-0 Big 12), who posted a .337 hitting percentage, clinched at least a share of the Big 12 title and own a two-game lead on second place Baylor. The No. 16-ranked Jayhawks (21-6, 10-4) rank third in the conference.

Rigdon, back from an undisclosed injury, had eight kills in two sets. Kelsie Payne, an Austin, Texas native, led KU with 13 kills while Jada Burse had nine. Ainise Havili had 32 assists and Allie Nelson recorded 18 digs.

It's the first time since 2014 that the Jayhawks have lost back-to-back matches, losing in straight sets to Baylor last weekend.

David Beaty must have walked by practice a few weeks ago. Only explanation I have for how this team has dropped(yes I know Rigdon was hurt) but damn.

This team is not improving as the season goes on. In fact they are degrading, there must be some disharmony, and discord. Big challenge next year, with all the seniors graduating.

This year we have been swept 3 times. Creighton, Baylor and Texas. We lost to Santa Clara?

Looks like Soucie was a bigger part of this team than we realized.

We are top 20 team, but that is all. Proof is in the whipping.

was really hoping to see them play in the sprint center in the F4...not looking likely but never know.
