Playing without All-American outside hitter Madison Rigdon, the Kansas volleyball team rolled past TCU in four sets Saturday (25-23, 25-17, 18-25, 25-17) at University Recreation Center.
The 12th-ranked Jayhawks improved their record to 20-4 overall, 9-2 in the Big 12, the sixth straight season they've won at least 20 matches. Sophomore Ashley Smith had a career-high 14 kills to go along with senior Kelsie Payne's 14 kills and sophmore Jada Burse's 10 kills.
KU is tied for second in the Big 12 standings with Baylor. Texas is two games in first place, undefeated in league play.
"Not having Madison out there meant that everybody had to do a little bit more," KU coach Ray Bechard said. "This isn't a shock to us that Ashley would have this kind of production. We have seen good things out of her in practice."
Senior setter Ainise Havili, a native of Fort Worth, recorded 51 assists and eight digs.
