Kansas senior Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum earned a victory at No. 2 singles, and KU sophomore Nina Khmelnitckia won at No. 4 singles, but the Jayhawks fell to Texas Tech, 4-2, in Big 12 women’s tennis Sunday at Jayhawk Tennis Center.

Bernard-Feigenbaum defeated Felicity Maltby, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-3), and Khmelnitckia topped Sarah Dvorak, 6-4, 7-5.

“From the competitive standpoint and the way we fought, I couldn’t be happier with our team,” KU coach Todd Chapman said. “We weren’t giving in while playing one of the best teams in the country. I’m proud of the fight. There’s nothing to hang our heads about and I’m proud to be their coach.”
