KU women golfers lead Arizona tourney

Kansas women’s golfer Chomchana Phuchanbanchob fired rounds of 68 and 73 to tie for second place after two rounds Sunday at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz.

The Jayhawks were in first place by two strokes over Kansas State in the 13-team tournament.

Phuchanbanchob had a two-round total of 3-under 141. Other KU scores: Ariadna Fonseca (tied for 11th, even-par 144); Victoria Chandra (tied for 18th, 2-over 146); Yi-Tsen Chou (tied foro 47th, 7-over 151); Xinyun Yu (tied for 50th, 8-over 152); and Pitsinee Winyarat (tied for 63rd, 11-over 155).

The final round will be played today.
