S.D. State tops KU softball

Kansas’ softball team overcame an early two-run deficit but lost to South Dakota State, 3-2, on Sunday in the Osprey Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Jackrabbits took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. KU scored in the second and fourth innings on an RBI double by Courtney Taylor and a run-scoring single by Lily Behrmann.

South Dakota then took the lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth.

The Jayhawks (7-3) will meet South Dakota State again on Friday at the Cardinal Classic in Beaumont, Texas.
