? Kansas University men’s golf team improved by nearly 20 strokes in the third round of the Big 12 Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club, but the Jayhawks remained in eighth place.

“We played better today,” Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. “Obviously, a 5-under round by Connor (Peck) really helped our team score, but we need to put together another good round today.”

Peck took over the individual lead among Kansas players with a 221 total, good for a tie for 14th place. Other Kansas scores: Daniel Hudson, tied for 29th, 227; Charlie Hillier, tied for 33rd, 230; Chase Hanna, tied for 38th, 231; and Ben Welle, tied for 41st, 158.

Texas retained the team lead with a 865 total. Oklahoma State is seven strokes back in second.

The tournament concludes today.
