Former KU national champion Al Kelley dies at 83

Al Kelley, one of Kansas basketball's 1952 national champions and a former Olympic gold medalist, passed away Saturday at the age of 83. Kelley died in Lawrence, his family confirmed to Kansas Athletics on Saturday night. By Matt Tait

Ex-Jayhawk Finley 11th in discus

A pair of former Kansas track and field athletes went up against the world’s greatest Saturday at the Olympic Games. Mason Finley placed 11th in the finals of the men’s discus, and Andrea Geubelle was 21st in the qualifying rounds of the women’s triple jump.
