— Three Kansas University men’s golfers put themselves in the top 10, and the Jayhawks lead the team standings after the first two rounds of the Hawkeye Invitational on Saturday at Finkbine Golf Course.

KU’s Chase Hanna shot a 2-under 142 to put himself in a tie for fifth, Charlie Hillier is alone in ninth at 143, and Connor Peck is tied for 10th at even-par 144.

Kansas’ other scores: Daniel Hudson, tied for 12th, 145; Ben Welle, tied for 34th, 149; and Zach Kirby, tied for 42nd, 150.

“With the exception of holes 16-18, we had a really solid day of golf today,” Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. “We will need everyone to play well on Sunday for us to come out on top.”

Kansas leads the team standings with 573. Big 12 foes Iowa State and Kansas State are tied for second at 577.

UMKC’s Francois Lagraulet leads the individual standings at 138.

The final round will be today.
