The Kansas University football team officially announced its 2016 schedule on Tuesday.

The Jayhawks will play six games at Memorial Stadium and six on the road.

KU’s second season under head coach David Beaty will begin with back-to-back home games, against Rhode Island and Ohio, before Kansas closes its non-conference portion of the schedule with a road game at Memphis.

An idle week will lead Kansas into its Big 12 slate, which opens with an Oct. 1 trip to Lubbock, Texas, to face Texas Tech.

Conference home dates for Kansas come against TCU, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Texas.

The Jayhawks will face the Red Raiders, Baylor, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Kansas State on the road.

Next fall marks the sixth season of the Big 12’s nine-game, round-robin format.
